Located on the west side of downtown Vancouver, The Jefferson Apartments draw inspiration from the adjacent railroad tracks, using elements like corrugated and smooth metal panels that mimic  a traditional boxcar. The first contemporary multifamily project in Vancouver’s transitioning industrial west side, The Jefferson aims to tell the story of the neighborhood’s history while setting a new standard for housing and design, blending a nod to the past and to the future.

The 92-unit project consists of a 4-level building that runs parallel to Jefferson Street on the southwest side of the site. The owner’s overarching goal was to provide stylish and accessible housing options for residents who want to be near the city’s core. A percentage of units have been reserved as affordable housing, per an agreement made between the owner and the City of Vancouver. Situated on a primary thoroughfare between Vancouver’s growing downtown, waterfront, and employment-focused west side, The Jefferson functions as a critical piece of connective tissue between these distinct districts, offering centralized housing options with a unique residential experience providing for easy access to employers, amenities, transit, and services.
