LSW’s 2021 Year In Review
Written December 30, 2021 by LSW Admin
The end of each year always has us looking inward, thinking about the moments and events that have shaped and defined the last twelve months. We have a lot to be grateful for and plenty to celebrate. Now that it’s time to flip the calendar, we’d like to kick off 2022 on a positive note by sharing a collection of the biggest highlights, takeaways, and keepsake stats from 2021.
“2021 has been a year filled with transformational projects with transformational partners. We are incredibly grateful for our clients and our community; they have entrusted all of us here at LSW with their confidence, vision, and passion to bring to life some of our community’s most defining and transformational spaces this past year. From reimagining the way in which future generations learn and grow, to redefining the patient experience across neighborhood clinics, to rethinking the modern work environment, all while creating accessible and life-giving housing for everyone, we continue to be inspired by our clients, partners, and closest collaborators." - Max Ault, Chief Strategy Officer
As of Q4 in 2021, we designed over 840,300 sf of building space, and over 1.49 million sf of design work was under construction.

Community is the heart and soul of the firm. We’re so grateful to have partnered with incredible people and organizations on a variety of projects.
LSW employees volunteered a total of 224.80 hours of Community Service
37+ nonprofit organizations were supported by LSW
We partnered with the City of Vancouver and C-Tran on the concept and design for Volunteer Plaza, a project that aims to change the way people see and respond to public space and services.
Vancouver Plaza is a bus shelter reimagined as a multi-sensory rest-stop; a unique, bold project that draws inspiration from a man who made the City of Vancouver a better place through daily acts of service. This collaborative effort is equal parts architectural design, public service, and art, with some edgy urban planning thrown in.
We were thrilled to design and install a new parklet for Elements restaurant in Downtown Vancouver. It was a labor of love to design their new parklet, complete with driftwood motif, just in time for in-person dining to begin again in early January.
2021 saw the return of RYD’s iconic fleet of environmentally friendly (100% electric) vehicles to the streets of Vancouver. Starting back in July, employees from LSW, Riff Creative and a collection of other businesses had been ferried around by RYD and testing out the public app - which is now downloadable.
Just Like You
In partnership with Riff Creative, LSW supported and published ‘Just Like You’, a story for children and families by debut author Christy Jackson. The book is inspired by June Jackson, Christy’s daughter, and follows her family’s adventurous way of life around the Pacific Northwest.
LSW wishes you and yours a happy New Year!
