OVERVIEW

The Luke Jensen Sports Park is a 20-acre sports facility named in honor of a 9-year-old boy who passed away from Leukemia in May 2010.  The park combines sports fields, a community building, and a neighborhood park into one site to accommodate various user groups.

The athletic function of the park is comprised of three synthetic turf fields, two natural turf baseball fields, batting cages and a playground.  The fields are used primarily by Salmon Creek Little League and Vancouver West Soccer Club and can be used by other youth and adult sports groups as the schedule allows.

The fields radiate out from the centrally-located Bud Van Cleve Community Room.  The first floor of the building houses public restrooms and concessions.  The 2,200 sq. ft. community room is located on the second floor with windows on all sides to allow unobstructed views of all the fields.

One of the unique features of the complex is the six-acre forested neighborhood park on the north side of the property. Walking and biking paths coupled with picnic areas create new opportunities for the community to enjoy and experience nature.
